This spider was found in caracas venezuela in small burrow i suspect it isarboreal dueto its fast movement and capacity for jumping also the fact that no large ground dwellers have been sighted in the area, it is a spiderling approximately .5 inch in legspan, i have no ideas as to its identity so i put it before the forum.

I've got many slings that resemble the one in your picture, and they vary widely in species. Being that it is so small, I suggest letting it grow a little while longer, take pictures, and then post those. It is likely that you would need an experienced arachnologist to get a good guess at this size. You can always find out what species are living in your area and figure it is likely one of those. But it needs to grow some and start showing adult coloration for an ID. Nice find though, I can't find any Ts in this part of the US that I live in, unless in a pet shop. Sorry for the lack of help, but it'll be fun to raise it up and finally get a positive ID

checking some pics on the net have led me to possibly it could be part of the Tapinauchenius genus, they were collected in a somewhat colony setting with some burrows being not more than a few centimeters apart to several feet apart. are the taps known to form colonies like the avics?

I'm pretty sure that is not a member of the Tapinauchenius genus ...

Its definetly not a Tapinauchenius sp cause most Tap's slings look like Avicularia braunshauseni slings!

Hope this helps a bit!;)
