This spider came in a shipment of crickes from California, any idea what it could be? Around 3/4" LS

looks like either a wolf spider or a crab spider of some sorts, im no expert

Thanatus vulgaris, they are very common in shipments of crickets....not really sure why.

Yes. Interesting note from Dondale in SNA:
'...a world traveler; specimens have been found in stores, restaurants, railroad stations, and ships, and as pests in commercial cricket cultures'.

Any hypothesis as to why? Maybe the environment they raise crickets in is ideal for this species? I can't really think of a good reason why it's always these and no others species...considering the ample food source.
