Looks like a phasmid (walking stick) for sure, what's the locality? Looks like an early instar possibly.

I would say it is either Aretaon asperrimus or Sungaya inexpectata, but I think its the first.

It does look like a Aretaon asperrimus, I had though it was a sungaya but its too thorny looking. I'm not sure of the location, I was told Vietnam but thats only suspect.

Definitely Aretaon asperrimus. Now never post pictures in a context that makes it seem like the insect is in your possession (for your own sake).

The USDA and APHIS regularly patrol these boards.

Ahh, yes I figured it wasn't a native species. I agree with the post above.
