ID needed on strange black caterpiller.

I was outside looking at my mushroom patch and garden when I noticed this caterpillar. It is jet black but has a yellowish lining along its back. I saw it opening its mouth a few times which really shocked me since I had never seen any caterpillar do that. Here are some pics

mybe a helconian..not too sure, but havent seen one in texas.:)
