What could this be? It is an adult female, about 7-8 cm in legspan. Found in the orinoco delta, Venezuela.

Can post more pics later this arvo.

It looks like a member of the Pisauridae. Maybe Ancylometes. But I am not certain. Do you have better pics of the eyes?

I remember reading on here recently that striped pedipalps are an indicator of Phoneutria sp. Just a thought, since it looked ctenid to me too.

Thanks for the replies. It is not a phoneutria.
Snapped a few more pics tonight. This is her second egg sack, the first one has already hatched.

Hi Johan,

i repeat my first impression: Ctenidae.

Furthermore: i´ve till now seen only one species that builds sacs like that: Ancylometes spec.

No proof, but might be worth considering.

By the way: you´re going to be in Hamm? Any possibility to aquire some of that offsprings?

Greetings,

Stefan

Hi Stefan,
that was my thought as well :)
I will be in Hamm. However I had a small accident with the slings, most of them escaped.... I only have a few that are allready booked. There is another sac, but I don't know if it will hatch before Hamm.....

thanks for replying!

Don´t mind, just asking. Guess there´ll be enough interesting stuff around. ;)

Have a nice trip and enjoy your stay in germany.

Greetings,

Stefan
