ID help please

I got home from work to find a friend by my door. I have him(?) in a 6x6x6 cube with a fake plant and water dish. He is only 1". Do any of the more experienced true spider people know what he is? Is the enclosure sizing good enough for what I would call a sling sized spider?

Looks like it could be a female grass spider?

A 6 x 6 x 6" enclosure could work if that's all you have, make sure to include a lot of fake plants for it to web up.

I agree that it looks like a female grass spider (Agelenopsis), but it also looks like some types of wolf spiders, but I can't say for sure if it's one of those or not because of small detail i cant quite make out.

As for the enclosure 6×6×6" should be fine for now, but it may need a bigger one at some point assuming it's a sling, the enclosure should always be atleast twice the size of the leg span of the spider in all directions. I agree that it could benefit for some more fake plants (or real ones if you have the ability) and you may consider a natural hide ex. curved bark off a fallen tree limb.

The DLS is only an inch or so, I am basing the sling description on that. I have a big fake plant in there and it has actively been exploring it. No webbing yet, as I just set the enclosure up last night. The plant creates a great hide area for it.

What makes me guess female is the size of the abdomen, male grass spiders usually have a very small abdomen. Post some more pics tonight of the eyes and we can better help with identification.

What makes me guess female is the size of the abdomen, male grass spiders usually have a very small abdomen. Post some more pics tonight of the eyes and we can better help with identification.

I got a picture of the enclosure last night. Also gave here a mealworm, which she immediately attacked. Awesome response when she saw it. I was unable to get a good picture of the eyes, however clearly could see a lot or light reflection off of them.

Still looks like a grass spider to me, and I'd still recommend looking into a natural hide and maybe another fake plant just to give some varity.
