Just caught them on my windowsill! They are little, that’s a flightless “glider” fruit fly they’re holding for scale (I keep mourning geckos and dart frogs so I already have flies on hand).

I’m hoping to set them up in this 8x8x8 terrarium (after I seal the bigger vents) but I don’t know their species so I don’t know how accurate the care guides are, everything I’m seeing mostly seems oriented towards species from much further south.

Any ID?

Pics are not in clear focus so it's hard to make out details.

Looked like a wolf but the head/legs screams jumper

I thought Agelenopsis actuosa at first but it has more of an Eris militaris shape/patterning, but the lines are much sharper than E. militaris so I thought Platycryptus californicus also looks pretty close.

Most of the "southern" species are also in BC. Having been up and down the entire west coast, I've seen a lot of the same species.

Get a clip on macro lens off amazon for $9.

Sounds like a recent hatching only a few instars old. Newly hatched some salticids are smaller than .5 mm LS.

Make sure it can’t escape vents , look like some sort of jumper .
