I’m absolutely amazed at what their little bodies can do. He is emerging down and to the left. Eye symbol is pointing to his old hat - and you can see through one of the tiny eyes. H is his head ie cephalothorax, A is his tiny little new abdomen, L is his stretched out new legs. You can see the molted ones above them. I had already picked up his enclosure before I realized what was going on. As soon as I did I grabbed my phone and took a one handed photo and set him in a safe undisturbed space. He has successfully molted, but has not emerged from his changing room yet. Way to go little Stanley!
I’m so glad they shed in their web, I’m not into seeing the deed actually happen, but with a privacy screen it’s not so bad. I am surprised, thought his sac mate has been isolating like she’s gonna molt for almost a month now but nothing. I thought for sure she would molt first. Especially since she is so much smaller than him. She did just finally start spinning a larger hammock so hopefully soon.
