Im sorry i havent posted in a while but somthing happend today I jsut came back from cicis pizza and we were there for like 2 hours and i came back to see cobs curled up. My mom came upstairs and tuched her and she didint move. My mom said she was gone and i dont know what to think. I had her for just over 2 years since jan 10 2023. She molted the first time in june 2023 and next in mar 2024. She was not old at all. But when she molted in may a worm in her cage bit her and then a litile bit after that she fell from the top of the cage and hurt her leg and abdomen. We put corn starch on the injures but after that she always acted weird. She could not climb the glass walls for whatever reason and had troble moving around and pink toes like to climb but she always stayed on the floor and i just dont know what to do. Im just comfused on how she was sp young and died. Just so you know i do not want to get another one. Amd she was not molting she was not on her back. Sadly i belive she is gone and we are going to try to cremate her. I wish you all good luck.

Pictures? How can we know without pictures of the T and its enclosure?

Don’t touch your T

I’m very sorry to hear about Cobs.

Is there a specific question you are hoping people can help you with, or were you just wanting to share with others who understand?

That’s fair. It’s really hard to lose a pet before we expect to, and we all know here that it’s not “just a spider.” Do you have a favourite memory or quirk of Cobs’s that you want to share?

I am very sorry for your loss, unfortunately it sometimes happens and we never know why. It's one of the hardest parts of t keeping. It's something we all eventually go through though.
I recently lost my Psalmopoeus pulcher female Puddin, she was fine doing all normal stuff eating drinking webbing ect, I noticed her just sat on her favourite leaf in the morning, in the afternoon she was still there, something told me she wasn't right so I got her viv down to investigate, no movement nothing she was gone still sitting on her leaf no curl.... I still dont understand had her 3 years raised her from sling, she's never had an issue but she was gone.
It is horrible but happens and 90% of the time there is no explanation as we don't know enough about them to even start guessing... its why there are very few tarantula vets, we just don't know enough to tell what's wrong and often by the time the t shows it its too late to intervene.

I hope you can heal and maybe one day try again.
