And it was nerve racking to say the least! But, I got a couple of good, clear pictures of her.
I used a cut off two liter bottle, and she wedged her self in the neck of the bottle and wouldn't come out for anything. When I finally tickled her out with a paintbrush she raced around like greased lightening, and came to a halt for a couple of good pics.

sand? wow......
Looks like a nice humid mixture to me. The top pic there looks like its just condensation against the plastic which makes it look like sand. Very nice Haplopelma! I like using cereal containers also, especially the lock and lock types.

Cheers,
Nate

Nice pics! Great T! I've a few in cereal containers too. Been thinking of rehousing them in glass tanks so I can see them better. Way too gorgeous to be kept behind white plastic!

Thanks guys. The substrate is actually something different I've decided to try with her, I bought a bag of organic topsoil, which is a peat, soil, sand and bark mixture. I baked it in the oven @ 350 for about 30 minutes to kill any nasties. She seems to like it, she was already out of sight this morning,
As for the species, I'm really not sure. I've heard vonwirthi from someone on here ( in the Genus Haplopelma thread in T pics) but I think it resembles minax more.

As for viewing, I cut a section out of the top and replaced it with screen. I also drilled drain holes in the bottom, so the substrate doesn't stay too damp.

Any other suggestions as to the species?
