I need to move to the other side of my Country in a week. I have 4 Ts and bought small containers for all of them for the move, but my c. versicolor has now been in premolt for 2 weeks. I was hoping for her to molt in time but now things are getting tricky. I know, that she should not be disturbed while in premolt, but we need to go on a 4h drive. I am getting pretty desperate, i love her very much and do not want to leave her behind or give her away.

What should I do in this Situation? Thank you for your Time

I'm sure she'll be fine if she isn't actually molting when you drive. Put the container in a secure place where it doesn't move around too much.

It will be fine as long as it is not actively molting while driving.

Can you bring that one ahead of time (like today) if you have access to the new place already?

Remember too that sellers who go to reptile shows are transporting them all the time, often across the country or across states/provinces, and they always have tarantulas that are in various stages of molt cycles. You said you have small containers for them, so make sure she’s packed as safely as possible in the container and then place all the containers somewhere where they won’t jostle so much, like in a box with a bunch of padding in it, in a corner where the box is supported and isn’t going to be sliding around in the trunk or something.

Maybe it will molt before.

If not, get styrofoam, bubblewrap and pad those hard wall lunchboxes with it and put enclosure in it. I dont know what you call them in english, a cooler? Or get those styofoam coolers. And pad it up. Safer then sorry. It should be fine.

dealers do indeed ship tarantulas in all stages. It happens. You can avoid trauma by making a safe transport box.

don’t worry, its going to work out if you make it happen.

and driving safely. There is a way to avoid bumps and rails when you expect them.

overpasses, railways and bridges always have bumps. Must drive closer to edges to avoid the dents that occur from the flow of traffic.

just imagine driving a ferrari in a winter storm.

Pack Securely & Drive Carefully.
