All of these were found near New Hogan Resovoir near Valley Springs, California.

All size reference pics are next to a quarter(25 cents)

Some sort of male Latrodectus sp., is this just a colorful male L.hesperus? About 2cm(~.75")

Some kind of tiny solifugid. About 1.5cm(~.5")

This spider looks similar to a wolf spider, but I don't think it is. It can run on water, it jumps and runs incredibly fast on land. About 4cm(~1.5")

I know this is a Latrodectus hesperus, but I just wanted to show off how huge she is! About 4.5cm(~1.75")

Thanks in advance!

Thanks I've actually been trying that for the past hour, and no good finds. I'll keep looking though.

don't know if this will help or not paul, but i was looking at bugguide and there were two "groups". i don't know if this is scientific or not, but if you could figure out what distinguishes the groups, you could narrow it down even more. tenebrosus group and the fimbriatus group. hope this helps somewhat:D

Hehe, well if you make a list from the ones listed for USA, it narrows it down quite a bit... :p

you can try checking this page for dolomedes stuff...

http://bugguide.net/index.php?q=search&keys=dolomedes

i'm not sure about that species that you have there but if it's anything like Dolomedes tritons they make pretty good pets...and talk about interesting to watch! you can set them up in one of those divided aquariums with moist peat in one side and a pool of water in the other...put feeder fish in the water side and watch the action:) ...i dunno something about watching a big spider eat fish kind of makes me giggle lol
