I was recently in a petstore that usually takes excellent care of their animals, but I was in the reptiles section and noticed in the bottom tank that there was a nice big russian legless lizard in reptibark, along with a gecko of sorts. Then upon furth examination in the hide was a Red Eared Sliding Turtle.
Making quick notes that there was ONE source of water, a shallow dog food dish that was way too high for him to climb into, and that he was pretty much in misery I went and got a manager and asked him about it to test the knowledge.
Normally they keep sliders in the same tank but the water is in the whole tank and they're all around taken care of well. But he says that they did it this time because they ran out of room. :liar:
I told him that I'm going to purchase it because he doesn't deserve such treatment and I'm coming back in a couple of days and if things don't change I'll call him in on animal abuse.
Turns out he GAVE him to me so he'd have a good home :liar: He just didn't want to get in trouble.
