It’s in a temporary setup right now but does anyone have any ideas for a permanent setup? I caught the spider at my local pond.

Really like the look up this one:

Maybe some super hardy aquatic plants, depending on your lighting. I used to grow anubias no problem in still water and low light.
Mosses would be cool too. Sphagnum's the easiest I've ever grown.
Peacock ferns look pretty cool, there should be enough humidity because of the water.

The only other tank I've seen kept the water portion towards the front, with pebbles to keep the water from being too deep.

Nice!! I've always wanted one of these.

=> THIS IS A LINK WITH SOME GOOD SOURCES <=

Looks like you've got Dolomedes triton, or the Six Spotted Fishing Spider.

What you're gonna want to do is provide a fish tank or critter keeper with about 3-5 inches of water on one half, the other half terrestrial, like you would for a semi-aquatic reptile or a frog. Offer a lot of spots to hunt from on the aquatic side by providing several branches that overhang the water.

You could just feed it insect feeders, but to really see what this spider can do, obtain small feeder minnows from your local fish store. They're usually $1-2 for 10-15 of them.

Man, I'm so jealous 😄

I can’t find any of those at my local park and they are lightning fast I can’t catch them even if I saw one unless it caught it outside of the grass. I’ve caught them before far away from home but I never kept any too long . And that was ages ago .

I have D. scriptus here, they aren't as large but they sure are pretty.

Dolomedes anything (kept D. tenebrous in Canada and D. sulfreus here in Korea) have some of the craziest feeding responses of any spider. They're fun critters.
