I got my first pokie today!

Just ordered my first pokie a couple of days ago from Lee @ thespidershop, and I'm s/he arrived today!

Only a 2cm (>1inch) sling, but so cute. May sound daft, but after my B. smithi sling, I was surprised at how quick it was, and it's looks really leggy!

So happy! I think I'm in love! :drool:

£45 for a sling! That's about US$88/€57. Well worth it though I think!

I think you poors sods in the States pay twice as much for pretty much everything!

I can get a 1cm sling G. Rosea here for £5, or £6 for the RCF. And one of the sites I use is even cheaper for members.

Depends how soon mate - the footie season has just finished and the Queen could pop her clogs any day now! Maybe read up on Cricket (the sport, not the food!) It's like baseball but with two bases, the pitcher is called a "bowler" and he bounces the ball, and it takes four days to complete a game. Oh, and practice saying King Charles (through gritted teeth. I honestly wish they'd all die!)

Fish and chips are rubbish in Manchester - I recommend you come to Yorkshire for that (but then I'm biased!)

You going to try to pick up and few cheap slings whilst you're here and post them home?

I think the hobby is more established in the UK, so we tend to get better prices as there are more breeders (ie better supply).

I'm sure you can find someone in the UK who's willing to send a P. metallica sling to the US for nominal postage fee!
