so ive always had a fascination with african cichlids.
So i went to a private owned fish store, i saw some african cichlids, that i had seen before and they were just beautiful, i had a 55 gallon at home.
So i spent 240 dollars on african cichlid supplies, i am getting the fish in a few days and the tank is currently being setup.

If you are putting that kind of money into a setup make sure you set it up correctly. Wait 24 to 48 hours (or once you the water clears, sometimes it's cloudy) before you put any fish into the tank. Then once it is ready put cheap feeder fish in the tank to cycle it. You will loose fish during the cycle time. After about a month then add the fish you want but add them slowly, only a few fish at a time otherwise you can send your tank back into a cycle. Here is an article on the nitrogen cycle that will explain it a lot better than I can.
