Hapalopous Species Colombia Large.
Wow.
Where do I begin.
First of all, they are such a beautiful species. I feel as though even though I had it for about 6 months, it feels like she was apart of me. That being the first tarantula I've seen molt EVER and actually take something down.
I love you Pumpkin.

I feel weird for still having her body in a bottle of alcohol, I just can't let go of it. I love it too much.
I wanted to give this tarantula a good shot at life because of their bad reputation and how some people treat these amazing creatures cruel.
I'm sorry, can anyone relate or is it just me who feels depressed after losing a tarantula.

Grief over losing something you care about is normal. You gave it a good life, don’t dwell on things outside your control. Replace and learn to enjoy what you lost all over again.

It sounds messed up but a new spider might help you feel better.
Why did you only have her six months? Was it an adult female when you got it?

She was your pet so it makes sense that you would feel sad about losing her. It's always hard. No need to feel embarrassed about it. When you feel ready though, I would give it another shot. It's not about 'replacing' her, but rather appreciating what she gave you- respect and admiration for these amazing creatures. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear. I’ve had exactly 7 spiders die in my time in the hobby, bad molts, mature males, females living a long, full, well cared for life. Every one of them stings, even with some of them happening years ago. They’re all special to us as keepers, so just try to remember how fun she was in life and maybe when you’re ready get a little pumpkin jr.

What bad reputation??? What have you heard or read? I've never heard anything negative about them. I've owned quite a few.
More likely I believe he/she was talking about T's reputation in general (as is, considered by the average person) not the species.

Sorry for my honesty, but if you are of legal age and do not have to take psychotropic drugs regularly, then these emotions are completely irrational and, in my opinion, not healthy!
So now you can stone me!

You sound like you need to get more tarantulas immediately, especially if this was your only one.

I feel there could be worse. Like a character trait, where you can’t pass the opportunity to be an inconsiderate ass. It say’s more about your mentality than you know. You for instance don’t know the users age, country of origin, command over the English language. Yet there you are, making comments that probably should’ve stayed internal.

Just as I may have an opinion, this too is entitled to you. But playing Robin Hood and being insulting is a contradiction!

it is normal to grieve the loss of a pet, but that grief should have some limits

Like anything we have as a pet their loss is always disappointing and sad but it is part of life and everything born will eventually pass and we have no control over that time.I have lost a couple in my time in the hobby but knew it could happen for no good reason and accept that it can and might at any given time.I am sorry for the loss of your T but in my opinion you should get another and use this as a learning experience and keep in mind that the possibility exists for this to happen from time to time.
