I came across a website today that states
" The tan jumping spider (Platycryptus undatus) is a smaller common species that is easily captured and docile. They are popular as pets but as of yet no one has been successful breeding them in captivity. "
I bred some earlier this year. The pair were Wild Caught, but I bred them in captivity. I also have bred Zebra Jumpers and Maevia inclemens.
I actually have one of the "babies" I kept from the sac I got from the tan jumpers. The rest I released back where I collected them.
Not sure if this website has any real authority on reporting such things but I found it amusing. I would maybe make breeding reports on my jumpers if I was not too damn lazy(busy) to do so. Not sure if anyone would be interested in hearing about it or if anyone has heard of another case of people breeding tan jumpers. They are rather small so I think they are not as coveted as the larger Bold or Regal ones.
