This is the second time they've paired. It takes a long while for pairing to actually occur as the female will try run away from the male, but she eventually allows him to approach and then he climbs over her, holds her down, and turns her abdomen so that he can gain access to the underside. The first pairing took hours, so I assume it'll take just as long this time.

Prior to being paired, she laid a small egg sac that she then devoured. I wasn't sure she was an adult until she had laid her egg sac, as she doesn't exactly welcome the male's advances until he's chased her around a bit. I'm not sure how old these two adults are, as I received them as adults. I have two more males that appear to be subadults now, but unfortunately the females that I would have paired them with died quite suddenly and I'm wondering if this female will still be receptive and alive when they finally mature.

I've been keeping them in upside-down 40 dram vials with several holes drilled into them. The piece of cotton is what I use to provide them with drinking water and moisture for humidity since they seem to prefer not to be misted as they will spend a lot of time trying to wipe moisture off of their bodies if they encounter it. If they're thirsty, they crawl over to the cotton and drink from it, but in general they don't seem to require much water compared to Avicularia tarantulas that everyone seems to compare their care and needs to.

The vials rest on a heating mat, and although they make their webs near the top, they're frequently found resting right at the bottom soaking up the heat. I'll probably remove the egg sac if she lays another one since the humidity inside the vials fluctuate wildly depending on whether or not I wet the cotton since they rest directly on a heat source.

I keep some bumblebees and some carpenter ants that I provide sugar solution to and on a whim I tried to see what the jumping spiders would do if offered some and the female went over to the droplet and drank it up, so they're occasionally offered some sugar water that is removed if not consumed. Otherwise, they're just given roaches that are about as big as they are, if not a little bit bigger.
