When my 2” unsexed Acanthoscurria geniculata molted on May 20, 2020, somehow both fangs were missing. I did not realize at first, but when I tried to feed it, it kept fail to get a hold of it’s prey. That’s when I noticed it’s both fangs are missing. Luckily it’s abdomen was still maintaining decent size.

And today, it molted, after four months later. Hopefully fangs were restored this time around, I cannot wait to feed this always-hungry-all-the-time tarantula, once again.

P.S Glad to see you back around the boards my friend, it's been a long time...

if they are fangless I have heard you can mash up prey, flip them and place on their mouths. This would be a task with a Geniculata. My Female T Albopilosus lost a fang during mating. She has one full size and one stub after her first molt

did the fangs regenerate?
I think they did, at a glimpse, but I have to confirm it to be honest. Sooner or later I will find out when it is time to post-molt feed for this hungry tarantula.

It’s confirmed. Both fangs are regenerated. No more hunger game for this baby.

Acanthoscurria geniculata, both fangs now regenerated, and eating very very very well again. So good to see it come back!

I'm always amazed at how resilient these animals are. Glad everything turned out well in the end.
