Im heading down to Phx to see family at the end of this month. I used to live there but I wasn't into hiking and hunting back then so I have no clue where to go. Now Im not asking for your fav spots. Im just looking for places I can hunt. Just big empty public land. I dont want to know where XXXX is found, general area would be great. I enjoy the hunting as much as the finding. lol FYI I dont collect every thing I find, I take pics too. Also Im looking for herps more than scorps. I want to catch scorps other than HA there every where up here. I need places I can get to by car. No 4X4 yet my 1990 4runner is still getting built. No wildlife preserves our state parks. I prefer land people have illegaly dumped on. Why because plywood and tires make great homes. Well at least there is something always living under them when I look. I love the beauty of the desert, and always put stuff back the way it was, and pack out my trash. I was thinking of going to South
Moutain. Not sure though. I have a wall map of AZ I have been trying to plan out my trip. Just not sure where to go. Any help would rock. Oh the herps im looking for are King Snakes, Gopher Snakes, Banded Geckos. BTW Ill have a hunting permit before I go so I will be legit on the herps. So any ideas? Thanks

Yep Superstitions it is! Ive been talking to some friends and scoping it out on Google Earth. I got a spot picked out. Its even in the Tonto Natl. Forest so I can herp. I have another ? I hear Vaejovis spinigerus are every where around where im going. I want to catch some for a communal tank. Ive read it can be 50/50 on them killing each other. So Im going to go after adults. Are the Vaejovis spinigerus as abundant as I hear?

Yes, they are very common. I have never had any success housing them together. I'd say keep them separate.
