How to tell when a colony is mature

For you experienced 'roachers' out there, when do you judge a roach colony as mature?

I have a colony of lobsters that will eat half a banana in two days and will eat about half a cup of dry food every week.

I started it with 200 individuals back in september and I'm just curious to know when and how you judge your colonies as mature.

wait till they have offspring then wait till thoes offspring have offspring then its a mature colony. thats my opinion.
with lobsters that should be around 6 months possibly less.

i use the safty number method
for fast breeders dont feed them off till you have 1600
and for slow breeders dont use them as food lol
i have 5000 lateralis and my frogs and toads love them
i also have 9000 dubia
everything likes the dubia more
slower and meatier
this is a matter of personal preferance
if you dont get babies for over 2 monthes its safe to say you should stop feedin for a while and let them come back
but if you look at the colonie and go holy heck im over run
go to town lol
since i have so many colonies i always switch from specie to specie to keep them even
not really using dubia right now since i dont have many adults
