Was wondering on how to make a review page for myself? I'm quite confused with this new site layout haha.

Maybe this is a stupid question but I'm having a hard time figuring out what information goes in the fields marked "Item Name" and "Item Description". I'm just not sure what item these refer to. Everything else seems to be fairly self explanatory but those two I can't figure out what to put there. Am I missing something?

Item Name is basically the title of your review item. Since you are creating a user review for yourself, it would be best to use your AB username in this field so people can easily find you in the list of review items. The vast majority of users with a review use their username in the Item Name field.

The Item Description field is used to provide a brief description on the review item which appears in the list. For User Reviews, you can add something like "User Review item for <username>." It is an optional field and some users choose to leave this field blank. This is different from the "About Me" field which is where you can elaborate on who you are such as what your primary interests are (breeding tarantulas, rearing insects, etc.), your experience (although I wouldn't since your experience will eventually be outdated as time goes by).

Keep in mind, a User Review once approved is visible to everyone. Do not enter personal information you don't want shared publicly in any field. The Address field is required, but you don't have to enter your exact address. Entering something general like "USA" or the state you reside in is allowed. The phone number field is optional, so you don't have to give everyone that info. A valid e-mail address is needed, but if you are privacy conscience, use an e-mail address that you don't use for personal matters.

I have done this. How long does it take for approval??
There is no set time for a review item to be approved. We are all volunteers after all and some weeks we can get them approved faster than others, but we try to get to them as quickly as possible.

Thank you for the detailed information. Computers make me feel so dumb sometimes but now I have an idea what to do. Thanks again!

This is helpful, but given that I learn best from visuals, a bit lost.

I have no reviews since AB2.0, Scott has already linked my old reviews in my profile if people want to click on it.

My questions are for the following:

1. I have one person who I bought from. I left that person a review (leaving reviews for others is easy enough), HOWEVER that person cannot leave a review for me. What needs to be done?

W/that said, do I need to create some review items for every person BEFORE they can leave a review for me?? If so, that seems rather crazy to be polite.

2. I have a second person who bought FROM ME. How does that person leave a review for me??

None of this intuitive. It's a lot like not having the inbox status bar which told a user how much space was used....IN THE DARK and FRUSTRATING ugh.

To answer your questions, no one can leave you a review yet because your user review item is pending approval. Give us a bit more time to approve it and people who buy from you can start leaving you reviews. You don't need to create review items for every person before they can leave a review for you. The workflow for review items can be summed up in the following steps...

1. Create a new user review item for yourself.
2. Wait for approval of the newly created review item from the AB staff. There is no set time limit to wait. We get to them as soon as life and other site duties allow. Please be patient.
3. Once approved, other people can leave you reviews and you can post ads in the classifieds. That is, as long as your account meets other criteria for posting in the classifieds. See the Help or Terms and Rules pages linked at the bottom of every page for more details.

Any other questions, feel free to ask!
