Where would the best place be to look for T. Domestica spiders? I go to the country on the weekends and hike around a bit through various wooded areas. I never see these guys out in the woods ever, only in the city when Im too busy working and can't mess with spider capturing. Where in the wild? Not urban.

With funnel webbers it's a lot easier to look for the webs. They like areas where they have lots of stuff to anchor to. Here's one that an Eratigena species made on my stairs next to one of my plant pots (there's a second one near the ground on the right although it's hard to see in the pic):

In less urban areas, I've seen lots of funnel webs in old stumps that are breaking down, and around the roots of trees. They can be photosensitive so usually go for darker areas. They're pretty reclusive so they won't come out unless they think there's prey in their webs and they're insanely fast.

Tldr: Darker, cluttered areas with lots of anchor points, usually around trees, usually relatively close to the ground, are going to be your best bet.

Good luck finding one!!

T. Domestica... as the name suggests could be found Domestically / In House / In Barn
Commonly refered to as Domestic House Spider & Barn Funnel Weaver.

FYI Funnel Weaver are tough to catch you gotta block escape routs. I would catch cup them . Sadly I don’t see them anymore here. They used to be all over my house outside on the fence everywhere.

Most of the funnel web spiders you find here like this in the bottom of trees and whatnot are have the stripes running down the ceraphax and abdomen. Two lines. I don't think that the ones you find common like this here are Teg domesticas. I think theyre some sort of grass spider.
