My glass roach tank is covered in dust, old food, and hard water stains. If I remove the roaches and old substrate, what can I clean the tank with that wont have any chemicals that will harm my roaches? Is brillo ok to scrub with, will it scratch the glass?
I tried scrubbing with a paper towel and warm water and it did little to help.

Bleach water, rinse, let dry. Brillo pads will scratch the glass, use a razor blade.

I recently scraped water spots off a 20 gallon upgrade tank for our younger bearded dragon. It took about 10 razor blades because they dull so quickly. Fortunately, they are very cheap.

I've found that the little scourer sponges you get for washing up, with a rough green side on them, don't scratch glass. But they are good for scrubbing. Though a razor blade will probably be more efficient to get rid of water marks.

If you're like me, and get irrationally paranoid that no amount of rinsing in the world will get rid of any bleach traces, you can rinse with dechlorinator. I learned that tip only quite recently, and of course it makes perfect sense but I'd never thought of it before! :D

Undilluted vinegar works wonders on water deposits if you're cleaning out the entire tank anyway. Dilluted just takes awhile longer, but a good soak will make it like new again.
