Hello again,

Wondering if you guys can help me with how much to feed a Mexican Red Knee Tarantula and how often. Also when she molts what is the protocol for feeding her? Do we only feed her crickets?

Thank you all for your help :) sorry earlier I posted to the wrong forum.

you can feed it once a week every two weeks to once monthly depending on size of t and the feeders etc. not to be offensive or anything but you should really read/learn/ research more about the needs of your pet before you even buy it. do make use of the search funtion located at top right of the page you can find all the answers to your questions starting with your question about feeding after a molt. good luck and get started with reading

you can mix your feeders, crickets, roaches, hornworms, and @kingshockey is right on the rate.
Wait until a Ts Fangs turn BLACK before feeding post molt, IMO Black Fangs plus 3 days because people tend to want to jump the gun

I have leopard geckos as well, so it helps with the horn worms, but to be honest, my adult Ts can take down some FAT hornworms. So they outgrow my lizards, but not my Ts.
Nothing more fun than putting one at the top of a Poecilotheria's bark, or offering to an adult A. geniculata.

I use the following feeding schedules for slower growing species, generally meals don't exceed the size of the tarantula's abdomen, if you feed larger meals then you will need to increase the amount of time between feedings.

Slings under 1" - Once every 7 days
Slings over 1" - Once every 10 days
Smaller juveniles - Once every 2 weeks
Larger juveniles - Once every 3 weeks
Subadults/adults - Once every 4-6 weeks

Also when she molts what is the protocol for feeding her?
I use the following wait times to resume feeding after a moult.

Slings under 1" - 3 days
Slings over 1" - 5 days
Smaller juveniles - 7 days
Larger juveniles - 10 days
Subadults/adults - 14 days

Do we only feed her crickets?
Any of the generally accepted feeders (crickets/locusts/mealworms/morios/roaches/etc.) are fine.

I'd recommend checking out the link below, it contains a bunch of great resources.
