Many papers have attempted to give estimations to the number of insect species. Some give as high as 20 to 30 million, though most are between 3 and 10 million. However, much less attention has been given to arachnids in this regard. One paper (https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/frchs.2023.1101141/full) estimates just over a million, compared to the just over 110,000 species known today. This seems rather low compared to insects, with even low end estimates being over double this amount. You may say its because arachnids are all carnivorous, but there is a large diversity of detritivorous and herbivorous mites.
So have you seen any other estimates of total arachnid species richness? What do you think it may be?
