Had to collect a bunch for an AP Biology lab and now have about 100 to do with as I please. Pretty good T cleaners, however I was wondering how long to quarentine for? They were found in a nature walk, where ants and spiders and some salamanders live without much problem so I don't think that pesticides are used. Any ideas?

I think it's usually quarantined generationally, rather than individual isopods. Usually 2-3 I think.
It's part of why when I get isopods I'm buying them, I have no idea how to tell one generation apart, lol.

there are pesticides that take days to work, that only mess up reproduction and don't actually kill anything per se, mess up molting cycles, etc

so, just a few days is a silly quarantine period

i am inclined to agree with jeb. a few generations should be a lot better than a few days or weeks.

of course, there are also bacteria and stuff that you will never see macroscopic evidence of that you pretty much can't do anything about... *muahahahaha*

but don't feel too bad. i am sure a ton of in hobby CB stuff has infections in it, too =P
