Hello there,

Tarantulas can withstand a year + without food. Meanwhile they need water so probably like 4-5 weeks max... Since they are not eating.

Best regards,

Don

Ages without food, not nearly as long without water... so make sure they always have the option to drink water if they want to.

All living beings can go longer without food than water. At least on earth anyway!

People saying they can stay for ages without food, please ask for size the next time.. slings shouldn't be left without food for anywhere near as long as adults. You also need to make sure it's not fresh from a molt.

If it's over 2.5 or 3 inches then yeah if the abdomen isn't shriveled and too think it can stay for months without food but you'll need to give it water every 2 or 3 weeks for this species. If it's a sling, a freshly molted T, or has a very thin abdomen I would've be comfortable leaving it without food for more than a month.

The real question is why do you ask?

It cost me only $1.36 to feed my six Ts.
