How do I care for slings that enjoy making a run for it?

What does everyone else do?

House them in a container that let's you have the strategic advantage.

They're in vials, but some of them can climb, fast. I dont know what else I'd put em in. Theyre kinda tiny.

I guess try and transfer them to a temporary vial while you mess around in the enclosure and then transfer them back? Ooooor, do it in the sink with the drain stopped. I've seen slings that have had trouble climbing up the sides. Adults and juvis could get out right away but it could be a temporary fix for the stubborn babies.

Bath tubs are also useful. They're easy to spot against the white backround. Just make sure to plug the drain. You might try giving them more substrate. If they don't have enough to make a burrow, they're more likely to make a break for it.

When I swaped my Slings I used Small Jam Jars that they use for canning pears and stuff(perferably no symblos).I found they are wonderful as it is not to hard to poke holes in the sealable top and very clear so visibility is always clear

i second that. Well established spider won't risk loosing his house that easily.

I have a couple other smaller containers done like the one on the left. I took the neck off of a 20 oz drink bottle, cut a hole in the container lid & hot glued the neck from the 20 oz on there. I just take the lid off of the 20 oz part and drop a cricket in.
