Hi everyone,

I’m relatively new to looking after insects. I have a Darth Vader praying mantis (2 months old) and was keen to get another pet. Currently, I’m considering a giant millipede or a Goliath beetle. However, I’m not sure if I could house them together (on the basis that I had a large enough enclosure).

Would love to hear advice from those of you who I are more experienced in this area!

Many thanks in advance.

Absolutely not, a 2 month old mantis is still in the very fragile stage. A big goliath beetle will stress it out and consistently knock it down.
why do you even want to try to house them together? Keep the mantis separate and keep the beetles separate. Neither animals are even from the same continent.

Terrible idea, I don’t expect it to work.
Yeah absolutely not
yeah, mantis should always be house alone. The beetle would drive it nuts.. or possibly injure it.

Thanks, guys! Appreciate the quick responses! The concern was what prompted me to check on this forum so can now put my mind at rest!
