I have had a couple of Theridiidae sp. in my spider room for a couple of years now. Im amazed at how long they live with so little attention. I think it has a lot to do with their sit/hang and wait nature and being very efficient with their energy. I have not had much luck with the higher metabolism active spiders like the jumping spiders. I had an ant mimic for roughly four days before It desiccated. I don't deny its probably me though--I am still working on a Tarantula timeframe. As for feeding them, I used various sized crickets, micros and pinheads.
I also have them in my spider room
they make a scaffold web much like latrodectus but with a smaller floor span than latrodectus.
The males are much smaller that the females and the males all have [from what I have seen] red legs. Interestingly the females can have an abdomen that can be white or brown or a combination of colors with the swirl on the side of similiar colors.
Long life span I think, I have been feeding the same one in my room for a few years.
I would assume they are seasonal up here, but I have seen adults in the spring in my garage, many egg sacs they can lay in a season .
