house geckos

I'm not a gecko person, however I was wondering what the scientificname is of the common house gecko found here in West Texas. Oh, and I did do a search before posting and didn't find anything.

I believe it's Hemidactylus turcicus.

If that's not it, then check this page out...House gecko

I thought it was Hemidactylus frenatus and that Hemidactylus turcicus was called the Mediteranean gecko

That's it to a "T", no pun intended (well not much of one anyway)... They are everywhere.

This is the house gecko here in Malta, (Mediterranean). Its Hemidactylus turcicus. I wonder if it found its way to America because it's native here.

That one looks different thatn the one that was on that link. The ones I have here don't have the spikes and do't seem to be rough in texture.
