House geckos

I have recently acquired and release 6 house geckos into the spider room. More of an experiment than an attempt to accomplish anything, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these little guys. I'm interested to see if they stay in the room and catch stray crickets. Water and food will be readily available if they stick around.

Any comments, ideas or tips from experience with such an endeavor?

I caught a glimpse of one of them out running about and was able to catch a picture of him. I'm not certain of the species, so if any gecko enthusiasts are out there, please chime in.

Haven't done it myself but I know of a few pet store owners who have done it and it worked fine. They rarely saw them but every once in a while would spot one. Most of the time I hear of them using Tokays though to cut down on roaches that seem to be a prob in a lot of stores.

Yes, I've heard of the use of Tokay's also. I wasn't feeling THAT adventurous. I was really surprised to see one. I'm hoping to see little ones sometime this summer.

I heard a story once from a person from Malaysia that had house geckos regularly appear in their home. Apparently, they crap all over the place, so if you see them about your breakfast, cover your bowl!

Good Luck. Sounds very interesting.

That was actually my only real concern. We'll see what happens.
