So I bought him like 3 or 4 weeks ago, I've thrown in all size crickets which I read is what they mainly eat... supposedly every other day. I've never seen him be even the slightest bit interested in them. I just keep pulling dead crickets out and he keeps getting thinner. So what the heck? Heat/humidity problem? space problem??? He's in like a half gallon tank.

That tank might be too small if its an adult. That sounds weird though. Do you have a light for it or does it get natural sunlight?

He kind of gets both natural and a heat lamp. It stays over 75 degrees most of the time. And I misted the tank a little every day. He had a water dish too. The area is small, but I wouldn't think it was SO small that he refused to eat until starvation. Which is what's happening. I think he will be dead within 24 hours. He's breathing very slowly now, and isn't very responsive. He looked healthy when I bought him, but not now.

That sucks man. It's frustrating when things like that happen and you never know for sure why.

It could have been internal parasites or something since most or all anoles are wild caught.

Well at least it wasn't like a $75 crested gecko. I've owned snakes... a corn and a green rat (gave him away though). But this was my first lizard of any kind. Not a good way to start I suppose. I threw a couple other bugs in there too, even fruit flies were in there... unless that's where he got the problem from. I've had an ant problem lately too, so that doesn't help either. They were all over him as soon as he died. I just flushed him quick...

I'm guessing the anole had internal parasites too, so this probably didn't cause anything, but: in the future, crickets should never be left in an enclosure long enough to die on their own. If it's not eaten in under 24 hours (or with some individual animals 12 hours or even "didn't eat it the second they noticed it" can be a good indicator they won't be eaten), it needs to be taken out of the tank. Crickets are infamous for causing serious harm to predators that aren't hungry.
