No not at all.
I have 25 years experience with Leiurus species but never owned a Hottentotta.

But maybe good to compare these 2...
But I have my eye on a Hottentotta sousai or a Hottentotta salei

Hottentotta can be bad tempered but also most aren't nearly as toxic drop-for-drop as Leiurus nor responsible for as many confirmed deaths if any at all (primarily pediatric age groups) save for Hottentotta tamulus and Hottentotta gentili. I know of one individual that has been stung multiple times by Hottentotta jayakari and suffered no serious effects ("bee stings"). But never be careless or disrespectful with any genus (including Hottentotta) that contains highly venomous species responsible for life threatening envenomations and fatalities. I was stung by a H. franzwerneri and it was no "bee sting" my thumb felt like it was smashed by a hammer and throbbed and hurt for a whole eight hours. My whole thumb even experienced ice cold chills alternately. But that was the worst of it for me (185lbs).

Edited: Hottentotta jayakari
