Hi there everyone!

I’ve been collecting various species of scorpions for a couple years now - so far I own everything from Emperors, Asian Forests, Giant Arizonas, to many beautiful specimens of Androctonus, Hottentotta, Leiurus, Parabuthus & Tityus scorpions. Recently I had the great pleasure of acquiring my first Hottentotta Tamulus from 03Arachnids and absolutely love the little baby. I understand that they naturally thrive in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, etc. which I believe are subtropical to tropical, humid climates. Currently I have mine in a nice size enclosure with Reptil Sciences Terrarium sand, mixed with slightly moist (not damp) cocoa peat moss/vermiculite on top (“Dig-It” from Josh’s Frogs) to simulate its natural habitat. Right now we’re at about 58 - 60% humidity & a temperature of about 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Are these optimal conditions for this particular species? It’s my first one of this type & I’m thinking of buying a couple more so I just wanted to make sure I have them well taken care of for long healthy life. Thanks very much for any feedback, suggestion, opinions, etc. I sincerely appreciate it.

I'm not sure about the exact temperatures/humidity, but my H tamulus likes it hot.
I run the enclosure at 30-34°C during daytime.
Occasionally I even turn it up a bit higher and it still wants to cuddle with the ceramic bulb.
I use sand as a substrate and a few piles of rocks on top of that.
I found out that it prefers to hide under stones instead of a piece of bark.
I mist one half of the enclosure once per month and it seems to be enough.
@Ferrachi also owns one since a few months, maybe he did more research on temperatures/humidity.
Personally I think it is a pretty Hardy species that can cope well with a variety of temperatures, indeed they are found all throughout India and Pakistan.
Those countries have more than just 1 climate model, there are areas that are arid desert but also mountain ranges that are colder. I wouldn't take Sri Lanka climate as an example because that's not where they originate from, it is believed that H tamulus got there via boats (accidental passengers) and these days also live on that island.
It is well known that in India they are often found on/under rocks and/or rocky places.

I have mine at also 30º and he loves the heat ! Very easy to maintain, he roams around mostly at night and eats only when he feels like it. I leave a bit of water in a bottle cap maybe once every 2 to 3 weeks ? Exactly what @Lubed Tweezer said, they're very hardy species as a lot of them live amongst humans in India.

Hot and Dry is the way.
Mid to high 30s
No need for further humidity just a tiny water dish will be sufficient.
