is it possible that the dark morph Hottentotta hottentotta might be actually a Hottentotta hottentotta sub. nigrocarinatus???

if not, does any here knows what the difference between them two?

The "nigrocarinatus" is just a morph, so not an actual subspecies. That fact renders your question irrelevant, because there is only H.hottentotta, strictly speaking.

But, I know from other breeders that the 'nigrocarinatus' is somewhat bigger and the ventral carinae on the metasomal segments are distinctively darker, hence the name.

Hi,

H.hottentotta has a very wide distribution in Africa, so it has different 'morphs' and specimens can differ in size and coloration. The ' dark morph' of H.hottentotta is not necessarily the same as the "nigrocarinatus morph"...Could be possible, and could be not possible....
