Hi, I've seen in a few enclosures posted around the internet sphagnum moss glued to pieces of bark and wood inside enclosures. What I'm asking here is if it's ok to do this with a hot glue gun? I've attached pieces of bark together and just want to cover the joints and some other parts with sphagnum moss just to make it look more realistic and also provide some extra humidity in the tank.

Or if there are better methods to do this please let me know!

Cheers!

Most people do exactly that. Works great and just fine. But you want to make sure it's had plenty of time to dry and cool off before introducing your T or anything you plan to live in the enclosure.

I use hot glue for exactly the purposes you mentioned Cornu, I let it dry until I can no longer smell the glue, the fumes are not good.

there are also low temp glue guns, thats what i use because on some deli cups the hi temp guns will deform the plastic.

You could also use 100% silicone, just make sure it does not have the mold/mildew inhibitor (typically the bathroom/kitchen silicone has it). It takes 24+ hours to dry and cure though.

Thanks GSA8 I will look into that, however for now I'll stick with the equipment I have.

I just used this stuff for the first time in an enclosure I just made for my P. ornata. It is quite a bit more expensive than hot glue, and it doesn't set as quickly. However, the stuff holds to smooth plastic and glass leagues better than hot glue does, especially for holding objects of weight.
