Hi everyone i found over 50 hornworms on my tomato plants. I wanted maybe to breed some of them when the turn to moths, but i know tomato plants are posionous. So what should I give them to eat so I am able to feed them to reptiles.

Thanks for any replies

I fed my hawk moths hummingbird food. I never saw them eat it on their own. Then I read somewhere that you have to manually feed the moths by unlooping their curly straw into the liquid, so I started doing that. They will sit there slurping for about 45sec-1 min, then fly away. I think maybe they don't recognize a bowl of liquid as food?

Do you think it is possible to pot a bunch of flowers and have them eat from that.

it's possible they are like bees and see more into the ultraviolet spectrum. flowers look like bulls' eyes to bees, from my understanding

when i used to paint my nails i could get bees to land on them if i painted a dot of different color on the base color. not all the time, but it was pretty comical how often i could get them crawling around my hands

I'm sure they would, but I think the amount of nectar in each flower is very insignificant. There would have to be a butt ton of flowers.

Well what if i developed some sort of feeding station that looked like a flower. Have any of you done something like that?
