one of my top favorite lizards ever!

I added in MAN below because as we know man is the worst animal on the planet. If it wasn't for man, these beautiful species would be just fine.

"Once abundant in much of the Southwest, the Texas horned lizard has disappeared from much of its range in Texas and Oklahoma. It is listed as Threatened by the state. This is due to a variety of factors, including loss of habitat (MAN), planting of non-native grasses (MAN), conversion of land to pastureland (MAN) and agricultural use (MAN), and the introduction of the invasive fire ant (MAN), which preys upon the native ants that horned lizards require to survive. These little dinosaurs do not make good pets because they require a steady diet of harvester ants."

It really almost disappeared? What a shame. How i would love to visit texas and hike in a national park and get to photograph a wild specimen. Such a shame.

i have to agree, they are in my top favorites. I mean, DRY SPECIES. It fits so well in out winter heated homes. I have yet to get one. Its not time yet. But wow.

i love how we can say MAN is the issue here and its not oppressive. MAN is the problem.

its not said but MAN would harvest it. Which is why we have barely no land tortoises left in Canada Quebec. Tss. MAN.

So much could be resolved if we removed the MAN equation. Or, if MAN, could dare adapt to THEIR needs.

afterall, how much cattle does MAN need to survive if over a quarter gets thrown in the garbage.

beans are a food too.

I do feel MAN carries implications best avoided. I use the term human because let's be honest, it doesn't matter what gender you are there will be selfish and evil people who just want to profit as much as they can without concern for the future of the planet.

Domination, Subjugation, Annihilation, Human Nature.
Man, Mankind, Human, Humankind causes Destruction far and wide.
Animal, Animalkind, Ruination is the price payed for Our Encroachment into the Natural World.
When, Will the Tide Turn against Us again.
