what should I feed my roaches that I can make at home? I been feeding them aples for the last 2 days but need to know something I can make so I dont have to order anything else. I heard some people saying oatmeal and others saying dog food or cat food dry I think but I need to know what is the best that I can do here at home.

For my lobster roaches i just feed them some orange slices about once a week and the occasional apple slice. I always have some dog food that is crunched into little pieces available. The friuts cover most of the water they need but occasionally when it gets really hot in the garage i'll put in some "cricket quencher."

For my new hissers i do just about the same thing but i always have a water bowl for them and i give them bananas and more oranges.

Overall, they do need a source of water and a good source of protien. I have read a lot about fish flakes being REALLY good for them, like helping a lot with breeding, but I haven't brought myself to buy them any.

Hope this helps.

Check the dubia roach colony sticky on your food question. Whatever goes for them goes for any other roaches too. And I don't really understand what you mean by "making at home" because in the end you have to buy everything anyway unless you grow your own vegetables right? ;)
