Hi, I was wondering, what's the best setup for H. Incei when making an incubator? I know each species can be different and I want to be as successful as possible. I plan on pulling my sac at day 20 and moving it to an incubator setup so was hoping someone had some suggestions on what works best for this species. Thanks in advance. 😁

Not sure where you get this idea.....I use the same incubator regardless of the species, and my incubator isn't the only one that works. The reality is that every breeder needs to experiment with what works best for them, and then stick with that.

Incei are really easy because they do things faster than any species I have ever bred...no species I have bred spends lless time in an incubator than incei.

I just have used two different types of incubator setups one with a coffee filter in a vented container over water for c. Versi being more commonly susceptible to mold issues, and another with a coffee filter directly on most sphagnum for c.elegans. setting as they actually drink directly out of the sac unlike some other species. That's why I asked. Because certain incubator setups seem to work better for different species depending on their needs.

Not saying you can't use the same one for everything, but I just wanted to see what other people's experiences were to have the most survive.

I line a ventilated tub with damp paper towels (or actual towels), place a deli cup with water inside, cover that with something (I use old socks I cut to fit) and simply keep the towels damp by adding water when they dry.

Coffee filter methods, while popular (and successful) for many, dont seem to work for me, so I dont go that route.

I use a container with 1.5”-2” of moist coco fiber in the bottom, only 2 tiny holes on the lid. Pull the sac between 19-21 days then open the sac and place it on top of the coco fiber.
I like the rubbermaid brilliance containers for my incubators.

I have had success with this setup for the following species:
Psalmopoeus species
Avicularia species
OBT
N. Incei
C. elegans
T. Albopilosum
C. Versicolor
