I found one my wolf spiders dead this morning. I’m not really sure what happened. The only odd thing is, it was digging in the two front corners of its enclosure and would tuck itself in there. I made sure it had access to water everyday, and it ate perfectly fine. It had over an inch of substrate to burrow and plenty of debris to hid under. Im only asking what could’ve of happened because I have another wolf spider that I think is from the same sac that is thriving and even molted and it slightly bigger than the other one. Is it simply just a failure to thrive? I only ask what could’ve been wrong because I have the other one that I don’t want to die.

The enclosre looks perfect for a Hogna. What do you feed it? Some people take insects from the garden or flies from the room. Most of those feeders carry around chemical substances which they take from the environment and could kill the "eater". I keep Hognas on a large scale, they are true night runners unlike Lycose which rarely leave their burrows.

Mealworms from the pet store. The same mealworms I feed my other Hogna and all my small tarantulas, and all of them are fine. Like I said, he had plenty of room to make a burrow. He did when I first brought him home for a little. And then came out and started tucking himself in the corners of the enclosures. But would still eat. It’s very strange.

Sadly trues don't have the same life span as Tarantulas.
