They live throughout the "lower 48" but are not that commonly encountered. I think this has more to do with their secretive, burrowing nature.

Very common in Texas. Here's one I found living in my garage.VERY FAST!!!

The eye positioning on these spiders look awesome. I hope to catch one sometime.

If anyone is interested, I have 2 female Hogna carolinensis with eggsacs and I plan on keeping just a few slings from each sac. Just give them about 2 months to hatch and disperse and I'll give the rest out for shipping cost only. I'll post again when they hatch.

Mines not quite that fancy...Just a 4.0 megapixel, but it does a decent job for my purposes...
