I just moved to Kansas, about 30 miles west of Kansas City, and the basement of the apartment I'm renting is choke full of spiders that escape into my apartment daily. My cats love to antagonize them but living in Brown Recluse ville I've taken to catching and identifying them. Long story short, I keep finding a particular breed of spider everywhere. I found a nice size one in its web in the window and have attached two pictures. Can someone assure me this is a grass spider and not the more harmful Hobo spider. I understand that Hobo spiders don't usually occupy this area of Kansas (east side of the state), but it being a college town I'm a bit worried that a student from another area could have introduced them or the spider could've made it's way my way. Thank you in advance for helping me identify this!
