One week ago I captured (without injuring her!!) a quite sizely female hobo in Seattle. She was living under a piece of wood in a small area of land between a garage and a cement retaining wall. The total area of actual raw land (dirt) was about 3 square feet. There was at least 3 other females about the size of a quarter each (slightly stretched out). There was a male-looking spider of some species (that looked much the same but dime size and not devoloped enough to identify) keeping near her as I proceeded to corral her clumsily into my deli-cup. The little guy appeared to be rather concerned about her although I'm not sure if it was safety measures on his part to avoid being lunch or that perhaps he was scavenging her unfinished meals. I am aware that male hobo's would probably be much larger to be her mate, so why was this little guy there? The small females each had males holding orbits around them as well. The males didn't run off at first sight of me or my deli-cup, but all other organisms in the vacinity fled post-haste. Anyhoo, she was captured along with the others (except a few of each size for the sake of mother nature). I put the little clingy guy in the cage with her and she ate him. She eats anything she encounters. The others I let back into the wild because in the hour or so that I had 2 small females in one jar in lieu of better homes, they tore each other to pieces fighting.
Does anybody want her? SHe's just shy of two inches and healthy. I am a tarantula person and I probably don't know how to accomodate her best. She eats a few crickets a day and appears to have the disposition of a junkyard dog.
My name is Jessica and I live in Everett WA, please help I wouldn't forgive myself if she dies in my care and I can't bear to set her free 30 miles from home. Call me at 425-218-7433 or text.
Thank you
