Bout half a year ago, I got some hissing roaches which eventually got children. Life was fine till my family started to find small baby cockroaches over the floor. These events have been isolated and have only happend 4 or 5 times over a 4 month period. I followed the advice of someone and rubbed veggie oil around the edges of my enclosure. This has seemed to work for the large ones or the ones who have had at least 1 molt already, but the ones without molts have somehow getting out. I live in maryland, which while not tropical, still seems like a place where if the babies were to escape they could be a potential threat. I really dont wanna be the cause for the next invasive insect in maryland, especially with the spotted lanternfly wrecking havoc everywhere. Am i over reacting? Any way I could prevent this from happening again.

Use a fine mesh fabric over the top of the container secured with a rubber band. That's how we did it at the pet store I worked at.
