Are there any negative effects if I give hissing cockroach to my tarantulas as their staple diet?

I guess that works. Only other thing I could guess is perhaps a low rate of productivity and slow growth?

I used to keep red runner roaches as my main feeders. Switched to hissers because I can't handle the smell of red runners anymore

No I’ve heard of people using them I just ran out of money so I haven’t tried them yet. Busty adults are too big for my tarantulas.

The only way your B. lateralis container would smell is if you didn't have proper ventilation and kept it way too moist. Mine hardly smelled.

If you think those smell you're in for a rude awakening if you ever get Eublaberus posticus orange head roaches.

I have to wear a face mask anytime I open their bin and that barely helps.

Their lid was a screen mesh. They still have a distinct smell that I hate

Hmmm interesting mine never really stank.

My orange head roaches emit a foul stench when they are disturbed. If you get a nose full of that it can nauseat you pretty good.

Not only do I wear a face mask but sometimes I'll put a full face visor on. The kind you would wear when using power tools like band saws and such.

Depends on the colony too I have the same roaches and they only smell if you try and crush there heads or disturb them. Plus I fed off most the males. They are the stinkiest.
I’ll update my thread when they’re all adults to say if they stink or notz..
Keep an eye out
Dubai are my favorite. 🤩 I was too low on money to get hissing ones also or I’d tried both at same time. Plus Id have to buy another heat mat.
