Hissers not breeding!

Hi all-

My Hissers aren't breeding! I have about two dozen, half of them adults; they are very active, eat and grow a lot, but still no babies. It's been a year now, and I can't figure out what they need. The females always *look* pregnant, EXTREMELY fat, and I've even caught them mating, rotating the ootheca, and opening their cloaca(? what is a roach's... orifice... called anyway?) as if ready to give birth many times, but am just not seeing any nymphs.

They eat cat food, fish food, rabbit food, lots of fruit and carrots, and occasional nuts and greens. I've even tried offering olive oil, which they weren't very interested in. They're kept at high temperatures, and have lots of space, hiding places, and companionship. So why aren't they breeding? Any roach fertility tips would be much appreciated-

are you finding discarded ootheca? if not you are probably just being impatient.

G. portentosa are slow breeders. The take upto a year to mature and IIRC they gestate for 4+ mos.

Owen,
What is the temp ? Mine breed like crazy when they were around 80 Degrees F +. I now keep them at room temp around 70 to slow them down.
